Thanks to a donation of equipment from Murfreesboro Medical Clinic, the Primary Care & Hope Clinic now offers x-ray as another in-house service to patients.
“We are very grateful for the donation of the x-ray machine by Murfreesboro Medical Clinic, along with the donation of its installation by Delta Imaging,” said Lisa Terry, Primary Care & Hope Clinic Chief Executive Officer. “Their contributions have allowed us to implement our plan for in-house radiology services, and further strengthen the health care safety net for the uninsured and underserved in Rutherford County.”
After receiving the x-ray unit from Murfreesboro Medical Clinic, grant funding was then secured to purchase a computed radiography machine that converts film x-ray to a digital image, and to install lead lining in the x-ray room. The X-Ray Department is now operational and certified staff began taking x-rays last week.
“Offering radiology services in-house significantly contributes to the integration of care we provide our patients,” said Terry. Over 5,000 patients seek health care services from The Primary Care & Hope Clinic each year. In addition to primary health care, the health center offers on-site lab testing, behavioral health counseling, prescription assistance, and nutrition and diabetic education and counseling. As with other services at the health center, x-rays are provided for uninsured patients on a sliding fee scale based on income and family size.
